Many times throughout my career, clients ask me for my expertise as it relates to domain name inventory. Domain names are very similar to digital real estate and can come in all forms. The most popular and common TLD is .com. Most people in the market for a new brand wonder what the difference is between the .com, .net, .org, and all of the new Gtld’s that have flooded the market over the past 20 months.
When ICANN approved the new release of these types of inventory, it wreaked a bit of havoc in the domain space as supply when through the roof and demand remained stagnant. As a result, we saw a decline in the value of the .com while the dust settled from the new extensions.
Over the next few months, I will plan on covering topics related the domain name industry and welcome your feedback on the posts. If you have a topic that you would like to gain knowledge on, please send me a message and I will dive into the content and help start educating the readers on why some domains hold more value than others.
